Reasons for hair loss in women: On average people lose about 100 individual hairs every day, usually unnoticed. Once the number of lost hairs increases substantially, it becomes noticeable and is especially dramatic for women.
Hair loss in women can be traced to a wide variety of factors – such as disease, stress (mental or physical), hormone fluctuations and medication side effects, among others. Whatever the cause, however, thinning hair is naturally a source of concern.
Causes for hair loss are highly individual, but can include any combination of the following:
- Stress (emotional and physical)
- Hormonal imbalance, specifically androgen sensitivity
- Change in hormonal birth control
- Genetics
- Immune system irregularities
- Yeast overgrowth or fungi
- Thyroid disorders
- Crash or liquid protein diets leading to sudden dramatic weight loss
- Nutritional deficiencies (especially iron, vitamin A, vitamin D, and protein)
- Cosmetics (allergies and harsh treatments)
- Radiation/chemotherapy
- Dental treatment
- Blood loss
- Medications (including anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, antithyroid medication, and hormone therapy)
- Severe psychological distress or life-threatening situations
- Disease
- Surgery
- Scarring
How to evaluate hair loss? What should someone do in this situation? Anytime you can't determine why you are losing hair, you should promptly consult your doctor, who should be able to evaluate the problem and may be able to treat it.
What our practice can offer? After clinical evaluation is completed by your doctor we can try to restore your hair using Mesotherapy technique.
It is very successful in women with thinning hair and women with hormonal problems that were corrected or under control.
When mesotherapie for hair loss doesn’t work?
- It doesn’t work for men
- It doesn’t work in women with male pattern baldness or genetic baldness
- It works well in women with Thyroid disorder but only after the thyroid problem is controlled medically
